Food was disappointing. The included-in-ticket food was one of the reasons we choose to do a cruise for our honeymoon. We are big on foodstuffs, but not big drinkers. We ended up paying for more than we expected.
The ports were nice. Wish we had more time to really explore the areas.
Embarkation

They were quick and friendly, but we didn't start moving until 4:30pm. Carnival Hub app wasn't connected until 15mins after that.

Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food that came with the price of the cruise was bad. People on the same Carnival Sunshine cruise for this date agreed about the food (evidence is on the facebook group posts). Others complained of stomach aches. Food was not hot, dry, and bland. The only food that was fresh and at the right temperatures were the pizzas and the food you have to pay like the steakhouse ($42 pp), Jiji's ($18 pp), cucina de capitano ($18 pp), or the Chef's table ($80+ pp). My husband was so upset we were very close to just leave the cruise early and fly from Nassau to somewhere else. This was our first cruise and also our honeymoon.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Hot tubs were lukewarm and disappointing. Waterslides closed on our last sea day and we didn't know they had plans on closing them (this was around lunch time). We played mini golf, that was cutesy, one-time play. We went into the gym for a raffle; it looked nice and clean. Spa was okay. the manager overcharged us. They promised a $139 massage for 75mins each. We were actually charged $159 each, and we didn't see the overcharge until it was too late. We shouldn't have given them the cash tips that we did. Never again.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We went to two punchline comedy shows. They were funny.
The drinks were overly and cloyingly sweet (of which were recommended by the staff!). This was not described in the drink menus. Wasted money since we didn't have the Cheers package.
We also went to the Epic Rock show. Not bad. Nice change of entertainment.
Children's Programs
We don't have children.
Service and Staff

Polite and courteous.
Ship Quality

Someone vomited in the halls of Deck 6, but they were quick to address it.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was clean and our steward made sure we had enough towels.
Ship tip
Expect subpar food unless you're willing to pay more. 3.5/5.0 Overall experience.
We choose to carry our luggage out and walk to our car instead of the Porter service and shuttle. We also had nothing to claim for customs, so our disembarkation experience was relatively quick.
We absolutely love the Sunshine. We have cruises on it 9 times. There are many good choices for lunch like Italian,Asian, Mexican and the deli is a favorite. Hard to try them all. In the MDR if I don’t see a favorite I order salmon. Cannot go wrong with the salmon every night and the appetizers are always wonderful I have never had a complaint about being on the sunshine it’s one of my favorite ships
We were on the sunshine the week of October 10th. We had a most wonderful time with no issues whatsoever the food was decent activities were decent as far as the waterslides being closed it’s usually due to high winds seeing how they stick up over the top of the ship.
Try another cruise lower your expectations just a little and you’ll have a most wonderful time
