Review summary

We had a great time and everything on the ship was well prepared, clean, and organized. Carnival staff was very energetic too. A 5-night cruise felt a little too short for out taste but that is no one's fault but our. Keep up the good wotk Carnival. The ship in general did not feel crowded. Confortable seating areas available where you could enjoy the occasional bands and duos play American classics and enjoy a drink, coffe, and delicious pastries with you loved ones.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Stress free process with clear direction. Port staff was very nice and helpful. The terminal felt a little crowded but that was not a big deal. Once in the terminal embarkation took about 20 min. Distance from the paking to terminal felt a little far.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining- Not having table clothes (perhaps due to shorter Carnival cruise) made the experience less elegant and enjoyable. Food was good. Staff was amazingly friendly and patient with our large group. Buffet- good selection. Always crowded for breakfast and lunch. We preferred going to Havana Bar in the back of the ship.

Guy's Burger Joint

2 out of 5

Very long lines and old raggedy napkins. Burger/fries slapped on a metal plate without any sort of presentation or order. It felt and seemed like a mess specially at the unattended condiments bar. Burgers & Fries were still very, very delicious!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Health seminars were entertaining and informative woth no high presure sales at all. The cooking demostratrion was a fun with delicious food. Water Work was great for yhe kids ..."set them and forget them".

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The main productions were entertaing but not as good as in other Carnival cruises I've taken.

Liquid Lounge

5 out of 5

Shows were great. With the recent ship renovation, this space now seems a little small.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
When you kids did not want to leave and wanted to come back the next day. That's a good sign!

Camp Ocean

5 out of 5

Awesome! What else can I say.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Did not have any issue or question that was not resolved or answered prompty and in friendly manner.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean. The nice moden decor seemed pleasant.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Clean and very confortable 2-person interior cabin.

Ship tip

Get your breakfast and lunch at the buffet and sit in the Havana Bar area, which is not crowded.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Had been to Atlantis in a previous trip. Too expensive. Went shopping and to Junkanoo Beach instead (free beach, 15 min walk distance). Great local arts and cafts. Beach was just ok. With funds available a day pass at one of the local resorts would have been better.

Charleston, South Carolina

2 out of 5
This is more of a historical site and not that appealing to our kids. Went to the beach, which has no comparison to the Caribbean beaches we are used to.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
No excusion needed. This is the perfect island to just have a nice beach day with complimentary food prepared by the ship staff.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We grabbed our last complimentary icecream cones around 9:15am and started disembarking around 9:45am. We were in our cars in our car by 10:05am. Very smooth process.

Charleston is a great place to visit if you're a civil war buff. But it is definitely a city that takes a lot of walking to tour. If you have kids (or are just an animal lover yourself!) the Charleston Aquarium is fairly new and is close to the port. Besides the expected array of ocean critters and fish they also have many local animals like gators, snakes, birds and turtles, as well as an interactive area where you can pet sting rays. And if getting a first hand peek at a bunch of giant hissing cockroaches is on your bucket list you will be able to scratch that one off the list!😳It's a bit pricey to get in, but worth the bucks. 🦀
