Review summary

This is not the cruise to take if you’re looking for glamour or exciting locales. But it is perfect if you want a relaxing, inexpensive week away with no worries, cooking, or chores! The crew were awesome, the food was good, and we napped, read, and stared at the ocean. Hard to complain!!

Embarkation

Very easy!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall the food was very good. The lunch buffet was sometimes underwhelming, but the taco bar made up for it in deliciousness! Dinners were very good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
My favorite spot is the “serenity” deck. Much quieter than by the main pool, but still pretty crowded and noisy. Though the big “clamshell” lounges are awesome and help with shade and a little privacy.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
They were all fine but I wouldn’t say outstanding.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Hardest working staff ever! The service was professional, kind, and courteous.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Wish there were more inside places to sit with views outside. Would prefer no smoking in casino.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was teeny tiny, but lots of storage for a small space. Shower was surprisingly big. All very clean and well kept.

Ship tip

Get up early to find a good spot in the serenity area!

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina Did not visit port

Just drove there and boarded the ship.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Nassau itself is ok once you get past all the tacky shops near the dock. Since we’d been there before, we went to Atlantis to see the aquariums, which was a lot of fun and worth the price. Not a Carnival excursion...just purchased tickets from the resort directly.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island) Did not visit port

Too windy and seas too rough for the tenders. Bummer, but couldn’t be helped.

Disembarkation

Quick and easy. We took our own luggage off the ship, which was easy because there are only ramps, no stairs, getting if the ship.
