Review summary

This ship is clean! Staff was great. Love the adult only area. I wish the some comfy chairs outside Casino area where people can sit, sip their drink and people watch.

Embarkation

The Charleston port embarkation changes every time we go out of Charleston which is about twice a year. The last embarkation was a little more of a pain.More line waiting than usual. Had to wait in line to go through two check in desks, and also wait in line to get on shuttle. We havent ever had to wait in line in Charleston before, even on Sunshine a few years ago.

Our cabin was on the very back of the ship. A little longer walk, but it was roomier. Would book it again.

The Sunshine is a larger ship than the Fantasy class ships that were in Charleston before last year. The port building is not big enough to accommodate check in and security for all those embarking so they had to split it between buildings. Check in is in one building. After checking in you have to hop on a shuttle for maybe 10 minutes max (mostly waiting on the shuttle to fill up) and they will drive you over to the security building to get on the ship. I had priority boarding, my sister did not. We got on the ship with 20 minutes of each other. I thought the port folks were very organized and did a good job working with what they have to work with. Disembark—we were on the road by 7:45 am.

Why did you have to get on a shuttle? We’ve only left out of port Canaveral
