Review summary

We enjoyed ourselves and the activities we did. We had no major issues with the ship or the people on it. We will be cruising again soon and I hope our experience next time is as good as this time.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was good except at the first building we went to they let my disabled mother walk up by herself. When we got to the top someone got her a wheelchair. I wish someone would have asked before that.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food is not as great as it used to be, but it is still pretty good. The Southern Fried Chicken in the main dining room is good, and there is plenty of food throughout the day so you won't go hungry. Some of the things we like to eat on the ship are Fried eggs for breakfast, Guys Burgers for lunch, and my daughters like eating in the Sushi Restaurant.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
They showed good movies every night and many people seemed to enjoy them. The Mega Deck Party was fun, and they continued it even in the rain. The shows were okay, but they are the same shows from last year. The activities for Club 02 were nicely planned out and my Daughters enjoyed them, especially the 15 year old.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The DJ was okay, but he didn't do as much interacting with the people on the ship as they normally do. He wasn't as worried about getting people involved or out on the dancefloor. This seemed to be a common theme with majority of the fun squad. My daughter's favorite member on the fun Squad was Ty and he was stuck doing trivia most of the time. Adam was an Okay cruise director but my girls say he doesn't appeal to the younger age groups or try to.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My girls said that Anna was a really good in Club 02. They say she tried to get all the kids involved in activities and was open to listening to what the kids actually wanted to do. They got to pick their own music, do arts and crafts, and play different games to get to know other kids. They even have updated games for the Wii and PlayStation. They were given snacks and drinks most nights.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Raynan was our room steward, We stayed on the Lido deck. Raynan and his team took great care of us and knew our names the first day we were on the ship. He even took time out of his working to ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything when we saw each other In the hallways. Iohn was our head waiter. Him and his team tried to get everything we needed and even took our special requests (like 3 shrimp cocktails for one person). Guest services are friendly, but we have stayed in the same exact room 2 years in a row and our phone has been messed up both years. It rings randomly when no one is calling. We went to guest services both years and the phone is still messed up.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We enjoy it. Workers are always making sure that things around the ship are being cleaned up. The new buttons to open the sliding doors were hard to get used to at first, but overall the layout is fine.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was not huge but the size is expected for an interior room. We all stayed in the comfortable. It was a little crowded when all four of us were in there at once but that is to be expected with an interior room. The room stewards did a great job keeping our room clean.

Ship tip

Eat in the Havana bar. It is cooler back there because most people don't know you can eat there. This is also where the egg stations are. You can get plain fried eggs you do not have to get an omlet. Most importantly, enjoy spending time with your family on vaction!

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

4 out of 5
Charleston is a nice southern town, but they have a noise Ordinance and the DJ can't play music on the Lido deck and no announcements can be made until you leave the port.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Half Moon Cay is a BEAUTIFUL island. The sand is soft and not very hot, and the water is very clear. I would reccomend bringing inflatable pool noodles to float with and to wear you shoes when you go get food to eat becuase the ground is hot. On the other hand, I think guests should be able to use their purchased drink cards on the island since it is owned by Carnival.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
My family and I have visited Nassau before and enjoy it, but this time we chose to stay on the ship because that was a new experience for us. We enjoyed having easier access to activities since there were less people on the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
They have a good system for getting off. Everyone got off in a reasonable amount of time. During Diembarkation, my mother had a wheel chair from the start and was allowed to sit where we got off the bus so they we could swing by and pick her up with minimal walking.
