Review summary

The beaches were awesome. The Dinningroom crew was great to us. All other Cruise members were unfriendly to everyone on this ship and on excursions. Our room was so hot and no one fixed it or even cared. I don't feel like that was too much to ask for. The rude unfriendiness is unacceptable. I will be rethinking my next cruise.

We had the opposite we didnt care for the ecstasy and loved the sunshine which was 10 times better. Sometimes the cultural differences with the workers can be seen as rude not everyone is proficient at English which can be misinterpreted sometimes in the way they respond or word things.

We have cruised many times before with Carnival. The crew on the Carnival Ecstasy have always been awesome but this crew on the Carnival Sunshine were just so rude to everyone. Our A/c didn't get fixed or addressed so our whole trip became miserably because it was too hot to sleep comfortable.

The cruise lines tend to put their older ships at non-traditional ports (Jacksonville, Charleston, Mobile, etc.) on shorter cruises to get a few more years of use out of them. Many times these ships seem to have the newest crew members or those that may be burned out from other ships. A seven day or longer cruise on a newer ship will usually give you a much better experience. I have seen others complain about the air conditioning on other ships as well, and wonder if it is a situation where they do not allow you to lower the thermostat below a certain temperature that may not be comfortable to everyone. I have been at a few hotels where you could not get the thermostat below 75° for air-conditioning. That is fine for me, but some may find that a little too warm.

Unless they changed entire crew we had completely different experience in September. Everybody was friendly and helpful. Our steward was great and MDR waiters that served us were terrific (we had Our Time dining). The food in MDR was very good. I can't say the Sunshine is my favorite ship but the crew members and officers were just great.

I expect things to be better when we get there next year. So sorry you had bad experience.
