Review summary

The cruise itself was good and the cruise director Mikey had a lot of great energy. We were disappointed by the day care services, food quality and the coffee shop times.

Food and Dining

The food was adequate but nothing to write home about. We upgrade most nights to get a better quality of food and that was "good", not amazing. Also, the coffee shop doesn't open until 7am. We have a baby and usually get up between 5-6am and we got the cheers package and part of that was so we could have better coffee in the morning. I feel that the café should open earlier than 7am, maybe 6am would be better for the early birds. The coffee in the food outlet was terrible.

The daycare services for 2 and under were very poor. My husband and I took this cruise for our 5 year Anniversary with the expectation that we could use the daycare. The times for the daycare for 2 and under were from 8am-10am or 10pm-1am. Anyone with a baby knows that the night time hours are not going to work as most parents try to get rest when their baby is sleeping. We were just looking to have a nice relaxing dinner at the steakhouse and that did not happen.

We had one of the Grand Suites and loved the size but felt like the room itself was a little worn, carpet stained, furniture ripped.

Ship tip

Do not go on this trip with the expectation of day care services if you have a baby under 2.

How dare Carnival expect this poor woman take responsibility for the baby that she elected to bring along for the voyage? Did she honestly think that Carnival was operating a 24 hour nursery for infants on board?? Obviously another case of someone who booked a cruise without doing their research or fully reading their contract. I'm sorry if her 5th anniversary didn't go as she planned, but if she wanted a full time nursery or 24 hour drop in day care for her infant then she should have made arrangements for her baby to remain at home with a trusted friend or a family member.

This is a fishy post. Who doesn't know that children under 3 are limited in the care hours. I love the 10pm-1am childcare!

Seems to me it is. It has no cruise history. On carnivals website it clearly specifies the age requirement.

I’m guessing this is a fake post.

Can't say anything about daycare but the food quality? Hard to belive that in one month they dropped it. We thought dinners in the MDR was great without "upgrading". I understand that we all have different tastes and expectations.
