Review summary

This was the best trip ever. The islands were beautiful even though nature destroyed it. The island people were all kind and accommodating. Didn't quite understand why Grand Turk and Puerto Rico were so expensive and St. Kitts and St. Maarten were very affordable. Didn't like feeling like because we were American's and could afford a trip we were rich. Got that vide quite a bit in San Juan and Turk. Overall great options at all locations and great history.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Table 167 Suardana, Wayan and Harta were the absolute best! They went out of their way to ensure we had what we wanted

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Activities in bar area should have remained for adults only. We has a drink in bar only to be ran over by tons of kids. Some areas should remain for adults (like bars)

Ship tip

Tip shared above. Areas like bars should be restricted to adults only and ship team members should inforce. We had drinks in The Frog but kids were running every where in bar.

If you can afford to take a cruise, you are rich compared to virtually everyone on a Caribbean island. I've been to San Juan once and didn't feel that at all, in fact got one of the best deal ever on a group tour after walking off the ship, I think it was $20pp. Even before the hurricane, a majority of the island did not even have reliable electric service, now many have not had it for the better part of a year. I have seen cruise ship passengers have a melt down because their cabin refrigerator stopped working or the AC was not quite up to snuff. I can't imagine going to any of the affected islands right now and not tipping extra. An extra $5 to anyone on the ship means way more to the person you gave it to than it ever will to you. JMHO :)

We have had that same experience in Mexico and I guess to them we are “rich” however it’s that we work extremely hard and save to go not that we have money to throw around. I guess maybe it’s perspective.

Because compared to the islanders you are rich. They probably earn less in a year than your vacation cost
