Review summary

We have been on many cruises and even though I know there have to be cutbacks to keep prices low, I miss the service and attention to detail of the past.

Embarkation

We are priority and nobody told us where we were supposed to go. It seemed very unorganized unlike previous times when things went very smoothly.

Food and Dining

The food was lacking flavor except salt most of the time. The steaks and prime rib and lobster were good but the lasagna was awful. It is obvious that the food quality has been cut back.

Onboard Activities

Carnival used to be known as the fun ship with DJ’s, steel drums and parties at night on deck. Now it’s show a movie. I can watch movies at home.

Our room steward, Lloyd, was fantastic and he did everything with no help.

Ship Quality

The ship was very clean but hated the layout. We always liked to sit on the couches outside of the casino and read but they have taken all the seating out. Instead of being able to sit outside at the back of the ship they added restaurants and staterooms. The lobby has a huge bar but no seating for all the people wanting to enjoy music. If you got up to get a drink someone took your seat. There are no bar waitresses or waiters anymore except at the pool area. Big cutbacks on service.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was very nice. We like to catch up on the news but the only station on tv was CNN. That’s ok if you like tabloid tv but I preferred the news station from Colorado that they used to have. At least they reported news.
