The dining room service was terrible. Most days were were in the dining room for nearly 2 hours to complete our meal. The service got better after we and several others made complaints, but it never got to a point that I would call it good, it was barely acceptable.
Onboard Activities

The comedians were great. Carnival had a new comedian nearly every day, though they did mess up with the big comedy show, they booked two comedians in the brochure, and neither of them were on the ship when the show happened. Lucky for them one of the other comedians was still on the ship, and was willing to fill in.
Entertainment

The DJs and other performers were alright, nothing I would classify as spectacular. They were acceptable for background. There was nothing I would have specifically sought out to watch. If I happened to be around when something happened, it was alright.
Service and Staff

Room stewards were good, nothing spectacular.
Dining room staff were awful. They need to be either retrained or replaced.
The bar service was good, however drink service away from a bar was non-existent. I never once was offered a drink while sitting on a deck chair, even when near a bar.
Ship Quality

The ship is small compared to a lot of the newer designed. Bathrooms are poorly laid out, and often you have to walk the length of the ship to find one. On several occasions it was faster to return to my stateroom than find a public washroom.
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was clean. We chose to put 3 adults in the cabin, so it was tight, but we made it work.
Ship tip
Don't do it. Save your money for another couple of months and go on Royal Caribbean.
I was on the Sunshine last October and I thought every thing was great. This was my first time cruising on Carnival and we will sail with Carnival again. Been on 2 Princess Ships and I will be cruising on the Norwegian Getaway in 3 weeks and then trying Celebrity from Rome in May. So far every time we have cruised it has been wonderful. Again we had great service and the people were very friendly.

100% agree it is the great attitude, smile, and relaxed and friendly mindset you bring with you wherever you go. Have always had a great time on Disney, Norwegian and Carnival! A large group of us going on Vista in April and simply can not wait.
3rd trip coming up on the Sunshine for us and greatly looking forward to it. Ship has some oportunities but the teams always overcome them. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
