Review summary

Generally this is a very good Cruise experience. The highlights are nice food and friendly crew members. There are many on board activities at your own pace, as well as nightly shows and movies. My only complaining is that Carnival is going to withdraw from Norfolk port in the future, so it is not as convenient to get to a cruise any more.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation process is excellent. There are a couple of thousands people but everyone is patiently waiting to be called. Staffs for embarkation are friendly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Love the main dining (your time dinning). Foods are delicious and the portions are right, so you actually enjoy each dish. They have some experimental dishes like rabbits, frog legs etc. - these are particularly good. You can order multiple appetizers to try them all. Other pleasant surprises are the very fresh Pizzeria, and Guy's burger is pretty good too.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We visited the sky course, water slides, Billiards, Pingpang and mini gulfs. All very good activities to explore on your own. Staffs on Sky course are particularly worth mentioning. My husband gets scared in the middle and has to go back. We are glad that the staffs remained so friendly and didn't get mad at us.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There are a couple of highly exciting shows such as the last Rock & Roll show. Most shows are very interactive but it is not mandatory. If you choose only to be an audience, just skip the pre-show audition. For the rest of the time, cruise director Emma works very hard to fill the gaps.

Children's Programs

We didn't have chance to try that out. My girls are with us for the most of the time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This is probably the highlight of the ship beside good food. Most of our dinner waiters are upbeat and exceptionally thoughtful, like the team led by Christopher did a birthday surprise for my husband, and the team of Sujitra had a calm way to make you forget the tiredness from excursions.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Good ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good size, lots of storage places. I would book something at the front next time though because smells from kitchen will arise during meal time.

Ship tip

Generally a very good experience.

Ports of call

Norfolk, Virginia

5 out of 5
Norfolk actually has a cruise center for the embarkation, which definitely comes handy in bad weather. Too bad there won't be ship coming out of Norfolk in the future.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Atlantis is pretty. We did the snorkeling in Atlantis ruins tour, which is nice. You get to swim with stingrays and sharks. But things are on the expensive side. I would only do one thing there.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

4 out of 5
Hurricane gets the best of Freeport. Most of the beach areas are deserted, but people still try hard to make a living. Oct is not a good season for ocean-bound activities as waves and winds are still big.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and orderly.

Are they transferring to another port or just giving up Norfolk. For us living in Indiana, all ports are far away.
