Review summary

It was the best vacation I have ever been on and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun, see beautiful sights and learn some interesting history.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was our first cruise and it was so amazing to watch the ship leave the port of New York! What a beautiful scene!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food on the ship was delicious and the crew was outstanding! They went above and beyond for my mom and I and especially for my mom's birthday! What a sincere, magnificent bunch of people they hire on the ship!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were so many things to do we never had to worry about finding things to do. There were trivia games, parties, dancing, lessons in all sorts of things and we were busy the whole time!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
They had so many shows and they even had movies you could watch on deck from a huge screen. Wonderful!

Children's Programs

No children were on this cruise with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The crew was outstanding! I have never seen such wonderful customer service before on such a large scale! They were so kind and really cared about whether or not we had a good time. The highlight of our trip was the wonderful crew!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was ship-shape! The crew was out every morning early to clean and even paint if something needed that.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was really comfortable. We had all that we needed, even though we did not spend much time in our cabin. We were too busy having fun!

Ship tip

Download the Carvial Hub App. That was so helpful to let me know what was happening next and when. It also had maps of the ship even though you could ask any of the crew and they would help you find what you needed.

Ports of call

New York, New York

5 out of 5
We only got on the ship there, but I have been to New York before and it is a wonderful city to visit. The cityscape was beautiful when we left at night, with all of the lights shining.

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Boston was such an amazing city and our trolley tour guide was so informative and funny! We really enjoyed the tour and walking around the market. They had trolleys come around every 15 minutes so we never had to worry about getting back to the ship.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
What a wonderful city! We did not take a tour of this city, so just to let you know, if you have someone who cannot do a lot of walking, make sure you take the tour. There are a lot of uphill streets here. We really enjoyed the cafe, and the old buildings we saw. There was even a craft show happening when we got off of the ship!

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
We took a bus tour, which was very interesting. Our guide knew so much of the history and about the people who live there. We got to stop at the market, the Bay of Fundy and it was full of information and beautiful sights!

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
I have to say, Halifax, was my favorite port. Also, full of history and the place where the survivors of the Titanic were taken. There was Titanic cemetery, which we did not get to visit. The pier was nice to walk with many shops, including an ice cream shop! We ate lunch at McKelvie's where the food was delicious and our waitress, Emily, was so upbeat and nice! Just a wonderful port to visit.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The ship's crew make disembarkation very easy for us. They took care of everything!
