Review summary

in today's age of modern medicine as well as contemporary trends, why would you allow smoking in a cruise casino.  Sure, some people still smoke, however, most people do not.   So to satisfy the needs of a few, they sacrificed the needs of the many.  Sure, there may be a correlation between drinkers and gamblers to smoking, however, that does not justify exploding the on smokers to secondary smoke or denying them a chance to enjoy the same amenities that they are paying for.  More important from the business side of the equation, if you banned smoking in all casinos, there would not be any drop in participation.  Why, simply because the smoker would have no other place to go.  This has been proven long ago when resturants banned smoking.

The problem I have with smoking the casino is the no smoking machine are right next to smoking machine I love to gamble but the smoke in the Casino is terrible what I really hate is when I am on a machine and someone comes over and just start smoking and blows smoke in my face without even asking do I mind but I also blame the ship because they should have better ventilation

I don't see the big deal with walking through the casino. There are elevators that will go to the deck you want on both ends of the casino. Personally, I frequent the casino and do not smoke and it smoke has never bothered me on any ship.

Carnival should have non smoking ships.

I agree whole-heartedly! Wish we could get the message through!!

I'm not smoker but my husband is. There are three spots to smoke. The casino, outdoor port side usually deck 11 above lido, and some ships lobby deck on port side. You can't complain about the casino if you don't want smoking else where on the boat. Personally I like that it's in the casino cause some days and nights the weather sucks so it's nice indoors. You can't smoke on balconies anymore so let them have some places. I hate the smell but if you really don't like it don't walk through there.

If I could smoke in my room I wouldn't bother you guys we have to go where we can and they are getting fewer and fewer so don't cut it all out just saying

Agree I wish carnival would ban smoking in all the ships casinos.

Walking past the casino on Deck 5 of the Sunshine to anytime dining was a challenge. I get a migraine when I'm around tobacco smoke, so it does deter me from going to the casino. John Heald was on a recent cruise we took. He talked about the failure of the non-smoking ship. Seems every group has one smoker, so they cruised other ships. He did say we can look forward to more restrictions, possibly in casinos, and better ventilation

I struggled with that also on the Sunshine. My clothes and hair reeked of smoke. On a particular night when I was a bit sea sick, I struggled to even walk through there to get to my room because the smell was so overwhelming. I understand the position the cruise line is in with accommodating both smokers and non-smokers. But, as a non-smoker, I would have preferred not to have to sit in a smoke filled space.

I was on this cruise and there were more smokers in the casino than non-smokers. I personally am a non-smoker and it didn't deter me from being there.

They just need to have a few smoking table and slots in a room with special venting and filters. And have the rest open as smoke free. Went on the NCL escape and the whole ship smells like smoke and it was only a few months old at that time.

Your idea is good, but I feel that a smoker who is banned from smoking on a cruise ship, just won't cruise. And their family won't leave them home, so there will be a loss. Smokers may complain about limited places to, smoke but as long as they have a place to smoke, they will cruise. Years ago, the Carnival Paradise was the only non-smoking cruise ship anywhere. It had a big non-smoking symbol on the bow of the ship. As non smokers we enjoyed the cruise. But this idea failed. Then they started to have smoke free areas on the ship. Now there are limited smoking areas. What's interesting, when the Dream started cruising, the first cruise in the U. S. was 3 day cruise to no where out of N. Y. C. Our son was a smoker then and he had a inside cabin. He was allow to smoke in his cabin! Things are changing.
