Review summary
We took the last Sunshine cruise out of New Orleans on 3-30-14. The Dream came in the next week. While the refurbished Destiny (Sunshine) is not a large ship, she has all of the amenities anyone could ever want. We booked the Captain's Suite (9128) and were pleasantly surprised. Including the balcony, it is about 700sf. It is on the port side bow and you have excellent views of where you are heading. The separate bedroom and two bathrooms were wonderful. We had a group of 9 go with us and the balcony and was plenty big to accommodate all of us for numerous parties. My favorite room on the ship was the Havana Bar. It is next to the Italian Restaurant and was never crowded. The views were excellent. The food was above good but the steakhouse was the best I have eaten in on any Carnival ship. The public spaces were of ample size and we did not feel cramped at any time. I would definitely recommend this ship to ANYONE. We have been on 12 Carnival cruises, on 5 ships, and this ship will compare favorably to any of them. Happy Carnival Sailing.
