Review summary

Overall, my husband and I enjoyed this experience. For annex experience, I believe we will be trying if not another cruise line, a different Carnival ship.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Arriving early is the way to go. We scheduled our arrival check-in for 12:30 PM. We arrived at 11 AM, showed the lady our boarding pass with schedule time to check in, and we proceeded to head into the early check-in line. The early check-in line was super empty. We ran pretty much to the front and was all checked in and ready to go within 20 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
If I could write the drinks separately, I’d give it a 4. The bartenders were really nice, and the drinks were made very well. The drinks could’ve been made a little more stronger but that’s my preference. Food, wise, eh. Burgers were fantastic definitely recommend and the fries were amazing. Also, the pizza was pretty good too. Those are mostly the spots where my husband and I went to eat. We’re not really a fan of sushi or your typical buffet food. Breakfast wise it was good. For dinner, if dining at a restaurant, the food options for appetizer, dinner and dessert were just okay. Nothing over the top and the options weren’t what I thought they be. I ordered a steak well done and told the waiter multiple times, Please make sure there’s no blood and when the steak arrived it was made as is and had blood in the center. Also, my husband had ordered grilled chicken one night and two bites into it, He noticed the inside was pink. We told the waiter and showed him the pink color. They replaced it with another, which still had a little pink inside. Maybe this was just our luck but again the food quality was just OK.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
My husband did the rock climbing. We played some pool and mini golf. There wasn’t really that much to do in my opinion. There were some places to shop. The casino. A sushi place. places to watch shows, that was about it. I guess my experience wasn’t what I thought it would be because I keep comparing it to pre-Covid. Pre-Covid, I cruised many many times with different cruise lines, majority of them being carnival, and their itinerary was super packed. Quality of the shows was 10 times better. Quality of the food was 10 times better. I just thought this experience was OK and it was also my husband’s first experience and he thought it was OK as well. With cruises your experience will be what you make it we had a great time and the staff was wonderful, but it’s just not the same as it used to be.

Entertainment

The comedians were funny. The shows were somewhat enjoyable. The staff was kind. But we were really unhappy with the last night of bingo for the five grand Pot. Maria was our host for both nights. The first night we played bingo was fine and enjoyable. The last night we played bingo. It was very upsetting. Maria announced the ball numbers super fast and did not make it clear we were to use all of our tickets for the last game. My husband, myself and a few others sitting in our area all felt the same and kept shouting for Maria to please slow down. Also, just FYI as a recommendation for going forward although this is a family friendly game, if you are choosing to make someone come on stage for incorrectly shouting out bingo, Please leave the numbers on the screen so that others have a few moments to check if their numbers were called. When someone would come on stage for fun, the numbers would be removed and a blank blue screen would be shown. We all spent money on these cards to then have to be frustrated on losing out on a possible win because the game was rushed. Very disappointed about that experience.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was nice. Our room was taken care of. We’re pretty easygoing about services from staff. As long as we aren’t given an attitude about typical day to day things, we’re happy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Overall the ship was on the smaller side but nicely kept and clean. No issues there.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our room was still relatively warm even with the ac being placed on the coldest temp. I asked our room steward about it and it confirmed it was working fine when it clearly wasn’t. But we didn’t make it a big deal.

Ship tip

Do your research wisely. The overall experience will be what you make it. This was a nice getaway from day to day life.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Very big very nice port

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Port is okay. We went to Margaritaville for the day. Directions say walking is about 15 minutes. In brutal heat it feels a lot longer and definitely do not recommend walking, it’s worth taking a cab. If walking, there will be a lot of people walking up to you for different things to do which can make you feel a little uncomfortable after saying no thank you for five times. But everyone’s super nice about it and will leave you alone eventually.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
This part was really nice. We took a boat to it. My husband and I did the kayak experience. I’m not a fan of deep deep waters or going super far into water away from shore. this was my first time kayaking, needless to say, I did panic a little but overall it was a nice experience.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Grand Turk was our favorite. We had a very nice time we did the duck tour which was incredibly lovely.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Super fast and easy. We had a later flight so we chose a later disembark time on the app. We went up had breakfast and kill time until the last announcement to get off. The boat was given, as we were disembarking it took no longer than 30 minutes overall to get off between Security and the walking

Appreciate your feedback. I didn’t know that any Carnival ship had a climbing wall! Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
