Review summary

If you want a party cruise with lots of loud, sometimes obnoxious people, then Carnival is your best choice. My husband and I have sailed with Carnival many times and it seems that they are embracing their "party hearty" philosophy. I will say that security responded quickly when the guy on the balcony next to us lit up a joint....

Food was fair - steakhouse was excellent while the main dining room was only fair

Entertainment was really lacking and everything was LOUD. The piano bar was LOUD - could have been a lovely intimate space to enjoy - not so much.

None of the musicians on this trip were really worth mentioning - sad, because usually there are some real gems. The main stage shows were reminiscent of Miami strip clubs -

Our cabin steward was superb and the other staff were friendly and responsive.

Well maintained for the most part - the Sunrise is starting to show some wear and tear in several common areas. (This was our second cruise aboard the Sunrise.)

Cabin was clean and well appointed. We definitely enjoyed time out on the balcony.

Ship tip

DO NOT book a cabin on 6th level - you are right over the theatre and you will hear EVERYTHING until late at night.

Grand Turk Island

Grand Turk is a third world country and they are not well prepared to receive cruise visitors. We did a tour of the island that took us to a beach littered with large rocks and broken glass.

Beautiful, well-groomed beach. The lunch was only fair.

It is good to see that Nassau has mostly recovered from the COVID-19 Pandemic - shops and restaurants are open again. We very much enjoyed snorkelling and spending time on the beach.
