Review summary

This was my 1st Carnival cruise, my expectation were higher than what was delivered.

Embarkation

Let me start by saying, this was my 1st Carnival cruise. When we arrived at port we were greeted and sent to check in. The lady who checked us in clearly did not want to be there, and her attitude and eye rolling showed it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Lido deck/buffet not a lot of choices, and not that desirable. You are better off waiting in line for other choices offered, tacos, burgers, deli, pizza (for which we waited in line for 45 min). Stake house was really good, I enjoyed my stake, although my husband wasn't too impressed with his. We've had dinner at the main restaurant twice, and we were underwhelmed.

Entertainment

We really enjoyed the shows that we got to see.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
I'll have to say our room attendent was wonderful, wait staff and bartenders are great, but there is a general feeling of no organization. Waiting for pizza in line not delivery for 45 min, or waiting to be seated at the dining room because there isn't enough runners. I also used the spa services, to get may hair done. My hair dresser was a really lovely lady and did wonderful job, but when I went to checked out I was pretty much cornered by a pushy "doctor" who needs to learn to take a NO for an answer....😤 if I wanted your services I would have booked it.

Ship Quality

The ship we were on was Carnival Sunrise, lay out of this ship is ridiculous. Dining rooms on this ship are located on levels 3 and 4, however you can not get to the dining room from either of these levels. You have to go down to level 2 and go up or go to level 5 or 6 at the end of the ship and go down if you come up mid ship, you'll have to go back...going to the buffet you have to battle crowds waiting for tacos on one side or burgers on the other.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was surprisingly roomy with plenty of storage.

Ship tip

good luck
