This was not our favorite cruise. It was very loud and crowded in areas, and we wished we had a balcony to escape to on multiple occasions. The food was not as good as we had hoped. There was really no variety at all in the buffet. We were shocked that passengers were allowed to dish up food themselves and that we shared a table with 6 others in the MDR. Yet we had to wear masks. It made no sense. All of the bars were enjoyable and the bartenders were excellent. The entertainment was top notch. All of the photographers were great. We spent so much money on pictures, they were so good! The main dining room was excellent, especially the show put on each night by the servers. One main complaint, though, is that no hot tub was actually hot! The crew was great, most especially Minto, Rennie, Deni, and Hendrick. We did like the Sunrise, but it was hard to navigate sometimes and very crowded and tight in entryways. With only about 1,900 passengers, it still felt overly crowded pretty much everywhere we went.
Embarkation

It was crowded and rather slow, but fine.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We enjoyed most of rhe food in the MDR. Rennie and his fellow waiters were terrific. We loved the shows they put on each night. The buffet meals were surprisingly boring. We were very disappointed that there wasn't any variety. It was very hard to maneuver around, all spaces were very tight, especially all walkways. We loved all of the bartenders, especially Deni at the Alchemy Bar.
Onboard Activities

Each hot tub was strangely cold. Very disappointing. We did not use the pools. The music in the main pool area was overwhelmingly loud and shaded areas were hard to find. It was not relaxing at all in that area. Luckily, we were able to enjoy the back of the ship. The Serenity Deck was always too crowded and way too windy.
Entertainment

We absolutely loved the Sunrise Rock Band. They were amazing every single night. So were the guys that played Latin music in the lobby. The shows were all great and enjoyable.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward, Minto, was amazing. We loved her! Rennie, Silvino, and Almario in the MDR were great. Most especially Rennie. He always remembered our names, even when we saw him outside of the MDR. He was so energetic and always went above and beyond. Deni in the Alchemy Bar was amazing. He always knew our usuals and did such a perfect job! Many other bartenders were great, too. I wish I wrote down all their names.
Ship Quality

We saw crew members constantly cleaning all areas of the ship. The layout was not very user friendly. Having the MDR in the middle of the ship was so irritating. We had a hard time finding the Limelight Lounge almost every night. All walkways were very tight, most especially as you enter the buffet from the pool. Passing by people at the drink stations was almost impossible. The areas around the photo galleries were very crowded and tight, too.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We liked our interior cabin. Minto did an excellent job cleaning up after us each morning. We did have an issue with flakes of something dropping out of the ceiling vent onto the bed. One day, someone came to check it but couldn't figure out what was causing it. She changed our bedding again and vacuumed up the debris. The bed wasnt as comfortable as we hoped, but it was fine. We always had hot water for the shower. It would have been nice to have the choice to just have the lights on over the headboard at night rather than in the whole room.
Ship tip
Be very patient at embarkation...you will get there eventually.
We just shopped. It was okay. We definitely appreciated Hendrick and his presence and knowledge. Definitely did not enjoy all the begging, hounding vendors. Had a few try to sell us drugs. Not cool.
Again, we just shopped. The hounding vendors were even worse. Had a few try to sell us drugs here, too. We were very thankful for Hendrick and his expertise.
I was on the same cruise on the same week and I completely agree. Not at all happy with how this cruise went. Very disappointed in many aspects with Carnival.
