Review summary

We traveled with our daughter and family with two grandchildren who were cruising for the first time. We had a delightful time over Christmas. The Carnival Sunrise was an enjoyable sip with attentive crew. The evening shows were not really interesting to us (musical genres we were not into), but the Holiday Show was very nice. Food was good and plentiful.

First time on the rear of the ship. Seemed a bit more movement that on the sides. View aft was rewarding.

Ship tip

Enjoyable atmosphere. Good cruise director. Overall hospitable crew.

Cruise embarkation went smoothly. Carefully select your parking options if driving. Our experience with Premier Cruise Parking was poor.

Grand Turk Island

We had an "All Inclusive" excursion - beach, lunch, etc. It was OK. The beach was a bit crowded and the water "toys" were held due to rough waves.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Enjoyed the walking tour and ship provided lunch. Beach lacked umbrellas.

Nassau, Bahamas

Excursion to Balmoral Island. Beach was not crowded and plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Drinks and food was pricey. Very enjoyable Stingray Encounter.

Disembarkation

Smoothest of any cruises we have been on.
