Review summary

It was a great relaxing cruise. The activities were all great and so was the entertainment. My family and I enjoyed it a lot.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarking process was ok, but for whatever reason part of our family was separated. By the time we were through, we had no idea where they were. We stayed in two cabin suites and had "priority" on our boarding passes. When were finally located them, they had been directed to some lounge where they were enjoying refreshments, but this had not been shared with the rest of us by the crew.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We mainly ate on the Lido deck until Christmas; then we ate in the Sunshine Restaurant. The food was plentiful and good on the Lido deck. Of course it was crowded, but that was expected. The Christmas meal we had in the Sunshine Restaurant was very good. We also ate breakfast there one morning. I still have a problem with at least sodas not being included in the price of the tickets. It is my opinion that sodas can be purchased in bulk by the cruise line and served for free to the passengers. You should not have to paid over $2 for a can of soda or purchase a beverage package for everyone in your cabin even if some do not drink alcohol.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My grandsons enjoyed the basketball court (although very crowded), and I heard from one of them that staff had to ask the adults to leave so the kids could play on the court. They also did the sky walk, swam, played arcade games and went to the fitness center. They enjoyed themselves immensely. My granddaughter swam, went to a few shows and to the Build-a-Bear. She's 5 and said she had a great time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
My husband and I went to two comedy shows (the comedian was great), and the Christmas show. We enjoyed both very much. My husband also enjoyed the karaoke and participated it almost every day. He also enjoyed the casino.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My grandsons stopped in at the kid's club on some days. They said they enjoyed it. As previously noted, my granddaughter enjoyed the Build-a-Bear and the other kid shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our cabin steward (Daniel) was great! He made sure we had everything we needed. One of the drawers would not closed and he got another ship personnel to come fix it immediately. All of the personnel on the ship we interacted with (guest services, photographers, waiters, etc.,) were very pleasant, professional and helpful. We truly appreciate them!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I previously read other reviews where people expressed concern that you have to go through the casino to get to other areas, and you do. I don't smoke, but I did play the slop machines a time or to and when I had to walk through the casino, I did. No big deal. As also noted by others, our bathroom had a really bad smell and so did one or two other areas (walkways) of the ship. Maybe when they refurbished the ship, they did not redo the plumbing. Other than the smell, the ship was clean and I had no problem with the ship design.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
There were four of us in the cabin. I thought the cabin was pretty roomy, and it accommodated us very nicely. In addition to the king bed, there was a sleep sofa and a wall pull down bed and tables. I enjoyed the space.

Ship tip

Adhere to your boarding time and don't get there too early. Getting there a few minutes before our boarding time resulted in less sitting or standing around because everything went very smoothly and quickly.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

The port was nice. The porters were very organized and took our luggage within minutes of us arriving and we were able to start going inside. It was crowded, but the lines moved very quickly.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

We did a private excursion (in a taxi). It was nice. The taxi driver was a wealth of information and we got a history lesson as well as a tour of the city. It was a two hour tour. I don't remember all of the places we went, but we were able to get out and walk around when we stopped. We stopped at one place and there was a DJ, a bar and plenty of other tourists. I was surprised to see marijuna being sold and brownies for sale (smh). We also ate at a restaurant and our driver came back and picked us up. We had ox tails, jerk chicken and a rice dish. It was good......

George Town, Grand Cayman

We went to the beach and to Margaritaville for dinner and drinks. The shopping mall was nice and the entertainment was good.

Disembarkation

We were advised to wait in the Liquid Lounge for our zone to be called. We heard Zone 1 called and then nothing. Other family members had to go to Guest Services and called us from Deck 3 to tell us they were there. We continued to sit and wait for our Zone to be called. Finally, we just left and were told they had already called our zone. We did not hear the announcement in the Liquid Lounge. Maybe someone forgot to tune the intercom in there. Anyway, when we and others who had been waiting decided to leave there was a line moving very slowly. We had "priority" disembarking but it was far from fast. By the time we got to the Customs area, the other family members were in line and we had to find out luggage and join them. My one complaint is that the process could have been smoother. Maybe have a crew member near so they can relay whatever is being announced.
