Review summary

This was by far the worst cruise I've ever gone on. Before booking the cruise I called Carnival and was informed that my children would be allowed in the swimming pool with swim diapers. This conversation was recorded. Once on the cruise I was told by the staff that my children could not go into the pool with swim diapers, and if they wanted to go into the pool, they had to remove the swim diapers. This is why they have swim diapers. Parent's were removing diapers from the children and placing them in the pool because the staff was making them remove the diapers. This was done directly in front of the supervisor's and pool staff. The second day a child crapped in the pool and the entire pool needed to be drained. Carnival would rather have children in the pool and risk an accident, than allow swim diapers on children. This was beyond unsanitary, and disgusting. One woman removed the baby's diaper in front of the supervisor and the child squatted and peed in the pool right in front of everyone. Guest services was notified, but apparently could care less. Carnival lies to you on the phone to get you to book, and once they have your money, it becomes your problem. My children didn't go in the pool the entire week because it would be wrong to do that to the other people. Carnival offered me a 15% credit after sending the recording of their employee lying to me, and wouldn't do anything more after getting me to book the cruise under false pretense. Because of their lies our entire vacation was ruined because we could not go into the pool. Carnival could care less about the people, and are only interested in your money. The management on this cruise was horrible and was like the blind leading the blind.

Food and Dining

Dining staff were the only positive part of the cruise, but the buffet food was a step above dog food. The lines at the buffet were wrapped around the restaurant.

Indifferent, and if you called guest services regardless of the time of day, no one answered the phone so you would have to go in person. It was a week filled with "I'm sorries" The line to guest services every day was jammed packed of people complaining.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cruise was booked for 2 adults, and 2 infants. The room only had room for one crib, and I was told that I should have known the dimension of the room prior to sailing. Somehow Carnival's screw up became my fault. I was informed that I should have known the dimensions of their cribs as well. The supervisor's solution was to put me in a separate room away from my wife and children on my vacation. After a full day of arguing with the supervisor they had to remove the couch from the room so my children could fit in the room.

A Chinese fire drill. 75% of the elevators from day one were broken and out of service. If you were elderly, disabled, or had a stroller with children you would wait an average of 15-30 minutes every time you needed an elevator.

It states on Carnivals web site that all children must be potty trained to enter the pools. Been on 28 cruises and have never seen anyone take their child’s diaper off and let them in the pools.

You were glad that they were enforcing the swim diaper policy? Parents were taking the diapers off the kids and putting them in the pool with no diaper on. If a child needs to wear a diaper outside the pool, they are obviously not potty trained, and will crap in the pool. They had to drain the pool because a child took a dump in it. I can only image the germs in the pool. That's disgusting, but, thank God they enforced that policy.

I never go in the pools or hot tubs.

Sorry to hear that you were misinformed, especially when that information came directly from Carnival and it clearly states right on their own website that diapered children are not allowed in any of their pools

Sorry you were misinformed before cruising about the swim diapers, but I’m glad to hear they are actually enforcing the policy once everyone is on board.
