Review summary

We tried this cruise to test interior cabins. We know we can do it going forward, but only for short cruises. It was a hard party cruise, but the experience was not bad.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
All was pretty smooth and we were quickly on board, however baggage delivery was messed up. My bag was held by security and I was not notified until after 7 PM. It was said to be locked, however, it was shown that it was not, and there was no "illegal" items.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The Buffet and other eateries were, in a word, hammered. Food quality varied from pretty good to hurried to get it out, or forgotten due to other pressures and overdone. It did not matter, it was eventually put on a plate.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
NRL and AFL fixtures are shown in the sports bar, YAY! Kids were allowed in as well and several drinks came to grief as they vied for attention, or just played up. So much for watching the games.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
there was plenty of entertainment. Some off note / key but it was there and people partied.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
This was good news. The staff did all they could to make sure all cruisers were looked after.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
You need to understand the layout of the ship to get around. It is often said you can only get from one end to the other on a few decks, however, it is easy to get around after you explore. Décor is, however, a bit tired.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The interior room served a purpose, but was a bit small, or maybe, economical. It was also too dark. If you got up at night you needed a bit of light to ensure you got around without stubbing a toe or cracking a knee. A phone torch is useful, else a light is turned on and a partner is often woken. You can also leave the TV on, on the navigation channel for a bit of light. We asked for a sharps container, it arrived a day later. There were no tissues, until I left the empty box on the bathroom sink. The fridge successfully cooled the bottle of wine and was effective.

Ship tip

Before deciding it's too hard to get around, do a full tour. It's really not that hard. Elevators will be very busy at times.

Ports of call

Sydney, Australia

4 out of 5
Embarked and then set up for B2B on next cruise.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Except for the wait in the customs area between the first and second cruise, the outcome was not too bad. We lost a couple of hours but were ahead of the pack when we were invited to reboard.

Shorter cruises are a fantastic way to try like in your case an inside cabin. Thank you for your detailed review.
