The Spirit was very nice and a good size. We especially liked the bar, lobby and pool areas.

Overall the food selection was very good in the buffet dining. The breakfast in the Empire Room was bad (microwaved eggs benedict and hash browns) so we only dined there one breakfast day. Dinners in the Empire Room was very good, but there could have been a larger selection over the course of our 5 night cruise (for the entrees of the day).
Entertainment

Great, great shows. We thought the dancers, singers and all performers were excellent. We really enjoyed the comedian (Doug Williams) on our last night of our cruise! You should definitely bring him back.
Service and Staff

This is where we were the most impressed. Every staff member always greeted us with smiles and sincere pleasantries. This is what makes the difference when presented with so many cruise lines....and since this was our first cruise, this may make the difference on whether we choose Carnival again versus another cruise line. Your staff really deserve kudos! Our cruise director Sparkles was also excellent!

I think the floor, carpeting and wall decor seemed a bit dated or "heavy" looking.
Cabin / Stateroom

For the money, our balcony room exceeded our expectations; just need a little updating regarding the decor and sofa.
Pros: The variety of things to do like seeing the shows, comedy act, watching contests (fantastic and fun Halloween contest!), exercise, walking, jacuzzi, and swimming in the pools.
Cons: The expensiveness of the shore excursions, gallery photos, and spa treatments.
