I did have some sea sickness in the beginning but overall it was fun. Especially for a first cruise it exceeding our expectations and we’ve already booked our next 2 cruises!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth. Check in time was 1130 but they let us check in early.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The Fantastia MDR was great. The staff were amazing. Was seated almost immediately every night.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There is quite a few different activities but not many that catered to us personally. We enjoyed bingo, the Love and Marriage show and of course the comedy club every night but aside from that wasn’t much else. Good for a first cruise.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Punch liner comedy club was fantastic and hilarious. Cruise director Deon was phenomenal. Fun squad was wonderful and very interactive.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every staff member we interacted with was extremely kind and very quick if we needed anything. Our wait staff at dinner was the absolute best. We stayed with them every night for dinner. Our room steward Ramon was on top of things and brought any requested items almost immediately. Our room was always nicely cleaned whenever we came back from port.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is old so there are a few things that are worn or need replacing. Our bathroom in our cabin smelled of mildew for the majority of the cruise, we didn’t spend much time in there aside from showering. Overall well kept
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Much larger than we expected. We planned on very tiny, minimal space and less than ample storage. But we were pleasantly surprised. It’s small but no where near the size it looks in pictures. My partner and I are both big people and we never felt cramped one bit. The shower was great and the water pressure was fantastic. The bathroom did have a rather bad smell to it but everything else was great. Cold room too!
Ship tip
Keep in mind it’s an older ship with fewer activities than most ships but do as much as you can!
The area and shopping close to the port was great. Able to negotiate pricing and find neat things. Headed to Mr. Sanchos for a reservation and our taxi driver took us to a less than mediocre “beach club” instead. Looked like someone decided to turn their house into a tourist spot without spending the money to clean it up. Biggest waste of $140.
Right before we were about to disembark, we were informed we had to go to guest services. The line was ridiculous and there was only one staff member at the counter. It would’ve been better had we known prior we needed to go there and not at the last minute.
