My next cruise is likely to be with another cruise line. I was less than pleased on this one. The ports were great, everything else, sub par.

The food was not good. I was highly disappointed in the food this trip. My last cruise the food was much better. I will say, the burgers were the best thing on the ship.

There were very few shows, too much down time. My last cruise, you had to pick and choose what to go to as there were so many activities, you actually had to decide what to miss. This one, We didn't miss anything and were still bored.

The bar tenders were average, no one stood out to be super nice or accommodating. The last cruise, they were all very good. The room steward kept our room clean but nothing over and above. The last cruise, maybe we had exceptional service but we got towel animals every single day, our itineraries were always laid out for us, not this time. I think we got towel animals 3 times and our itineraries were just stacked on the counter. The last cruise and this one were both over my birthday, last one I got a gift and the steward made a point to tell me Happy Birthday and even decorated my mirror. This time, no gift, no Happy Birthday, nothing. The cruise director was very nice and funny but did not communicate at all. We were always up in the air about what was going on.

The ship was pretty good. The bathroom doors were rusty. The ship needs some updating but not horrible.

The cabin was actually decent for 4 people. No issues with it except when we got in there, there were only 3 beds. We had to have them bring in the extra bed...
Ship tip
Do some research before going on this ship. Maybe if it had better staff, better food, more activities and better communication, it might be okay. The communication was terrible. We never knew what was going on. We were always asking people what time for this, where is that, etc...
It says reviewed for Carnival Sensation. We went on that ship once. It was our very first cruise. It is much smaller compared to the other ships, but perfect for those first time cruisers!
Did you like anything about the carnival experience at all? Keep in mind that each ship on each Cruise Line has his own character and flavor. Each Cruise Line also has its own character and flavor. So with that in mind maybe the sensation is just not for you. I personally like Carnival Cruise Line because of the atmosphere. They call themselves the Fun Ship and I like fun. I have not been on a bad cruise yet. I think I just got lucky the first time. But for you , do more research. Find the cruise lines that offer what you want then fine it ships within those Cruise Line that has what you want on it. Compare cost read some of these reviews with a grain of salt always. I have been on the sensation personally I enjoyed myself. Nothing great but then again nothing terrible either. I wish you Great future cruises🌈🚢👍
