Review summary
After reading all of the negative reviews about this ship I was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised! This was my 5th Carnival cruise and I love the cruise line but this is an old ship, that said, it was a well maintained ship. The decore didn't bother me, typical carnival. The staff was awesome and kept everything clean and maintained. The food was decent and the lines were minimal, something you don't see on the larger, newer ships. The cruise director was a dream! He was full of energy and kept the party going. I never participate in the parties in the atrium but I've never been on a cruise with a director like him. So. Much. Fun! The comedy was good, not great but kept us laughing. My 8 year old had a blast at camp ocean and Jennifer treated her like a princess. I tipped her extra every night. She takes care of the kids and makes sure they have fun. The entire staff at camp ocean was the best I've ever experienced. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I assume there is a mold issue or cleaning products that trigger allergies. I was fine off the ship but after an hour back on it my nose was stuffy and my eyes burned a bit. I would never sail this ship for a couples trip (we prefer the newer larger ships) but when traveling with two kiddos this didn't disappoint. Fantastic family vacation.
