Review summary
There were more things that were wrong than right or a mere okay. Alchemy area and the fitness center were the cleanest areas throughout the entire vessel. Majority of the crew were quite pleasant, others should find another career path, where their detached demeanor is solicited. The ship needs a complete overall or should just be docked forever. The voyage was rather unpleasant and unexciting at best. The overwhelming consensus onboard was extreme dissatisfaction. The stench of vomit, death, sewer, and porta-potty trails were suffocating. The bathing water and drinking water has to be unsafe, certainly for human consumption. The drinking water was clearly than the shower water however the taste was toxic. The bathing water started out rust brown. The linen was overused, stained and should be burned. The sauna was inoperable, the flusher in the stateroom stopped working, the closet door where the life vests are stored as well as our luggage, got jammed and would not open. The food was hit or miss. The exterior was gross and significantly corroded. The liner missed a port forcing the ship to navigate the water aimlessly for additional days. The acknowledgement and reimbursement was a disingenuous sorry but suck it up folks, it happens.

Plumbing seems to be a constant problem especially on older ships.
Certainly seems that way. I was just on Carnival Inspiration and they delayed boarding due to a fresh water issue. The plumbing was still being worked after boarding started. During the cruise everything was fine. Inspiration is an older Fantasy class but I'd sail on her again without hesitation. Been on her twice already.

Sherrydb41 just a question? Are you saying this boat is not Even worth the money people paid? Lowered expectations because the money? Time was more vauable and these people can't get it back! I just read all reviews for this cruise and 97 percent of the people was not happy, that speak volumes!!

I'm really shocked that so many of you are defending a multi-billion dollar company that has a "groups department" that is supposed to be able to handle a small group of 42 people with ease. Also, you guys are upset that I'm saying Carnival was still making profits and didn't loose any profits while we saved up and spent even more money than expected for a trip that was such a horrible experience all the way around along with the itinerary change. I never stated that I didn't have empathy for the cruiser that was injured. The only thing me and my family want is a better compensation for ALL of the combined mishaps that we endured. My post is not fake, but maybe all of you work for carnival by sitting online writing character attacks and cyber bullying any invidual who voices what they believe to be unfair and unjust treatment. Even if my family doesn't get anymore compensation I did what I thought was right by informing the next family not to cruise Carnival and expect reasonable and acceptable conditions for all their money and time spent onboard Carnival.

Yes gigito2, for a time period flushing or using the toilet in stateroom was not an option. It was however repaired as well as the closet area were the life vests and luggage were kept. The terrible odors were present throughout the ship. One of the lovely members of guests services asked to be taken to areas in-which she immediately noticed the unpleasant odors as well. She began to look around and behind things to locate where the source was coming from. Upon not discovering any dead bodies she concluded that it had to be the carpets. There were areas on the pool deck as well that reeked. The very last night the crew worked diligently to clean the areas. The pool deck was closed off for cleaning. The carpets and common areas received some form of deodorizing. I also witnessed the walls and elevators being wiped down. The issue with that is, the cleaning crew stated they only had one single solution to clean things with, it was not industrial strength and was not a registered brand like Clorox or Lysol. To avoid mildew, mold, and mercer strength bacteria in poorly ventilated - high traffic areas better cleaner needs to be done often.

Yikes!
Could you please be a little more specific about the stench and where it was coming from?
We're sailing soon on the Sensation in a JS, and your review has me a little concerned, frankly...
Are you saying the toilet wouldn't flush?!? Was it repaired to your satisfaction, or did that continue throughout your cruise? How on earth did you use the facilities if the loo wasn't working? Seems like a health hazard to me...
