Review summary

I would highly recommend this cruise to others as a first time cruise or simply a great break away from home. The ship was very neat and our ocean view room was the perfect size for my son and I. My 14 yr old son had plenty to do but did wish the pool area was a little bigger. It would have been nice to have a basketball court. Food excellent, activities for the families like music trivia, games  and shows were a lot of fun. We LOVED the excursions too.

Perfect size and location on the ship. Close to everything!

Ship tip

Buy the 12 pack of water from Carnival. We used it for every excursion. Bring a power strip their is only one 110v outlet. Carnival has great hair dryers and that left more room for packing.

Book the private island day for $59, it s a nice island. Nice eating area. A great way to relax. I did not like where we were brought back to. You can walk directly back to the ship but it is a dirty area.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Find out where the activities are first on the beach before purchasing a clam shell umbrella. The most beautiful beach ever. We loved it.

Grand Turk Island Did not visit port

Book the reef and rays tour with Captain Stumpy. The most safest snorkeling and ray day ever. great team from Chukka tours.

Debra, I've only been on two cruises, both were on the fantasy class ships. The Fantasy, when it sailed out of Charleston, and the Sensation. They are great ships, they are getting old and probably need a good overhaul, but I thought they were still good. My wife and I thought it was great. we aren't drinkers and our party days are over. I thought they were just nice to lounge around and to relax. Both of the cabins we were in were good, except the second cruise the television stunk. Some of the channels would go out and then come back. I know you don't go on a cruise to watch tv, but if you are on a cruise to relax and you like to go to your cabin to relax and watch some tv, it should work with a good picture. What ports are you going to be going to?

The only other ship I've been on is The Breeze and took the family I'm booked on The Sensation for July and I'm looking forward to the smaller ship adventure with just my husband. R.&R. just what I'm looking forward too!!!

ladyBug,   I was on this ship last January.  It is an older ship, but it was nice.  It is a smaller ship of carnival's line.  It is a nice ship for the first timer.  It recently added Guy Fiery Burgers and blue iguana cantina.  The crew was nice and friendly.  My stateroom was kept clean. The show's were really good.   I'm even going back on it in September.

I'm a first time cruiser going on Sensation in a few months. What excursions did you do? Where did you go? Does the ship really smell like mildew? Sorry for asking all those questions but I'm so excited.
