Review summary
The staff sometimes seemed a little unorganized. We went to kareoke one evening where the host could not get the p.a. system to work with the mike. There were 3 people trying to make it work. It did not start until 45 minutes past the original starting time-lots of people left. Also, this was the worst life boat drill I have ever participated in. We stood for 40 minutes by the poolside grille (after being herded in line to count us), and never even went to the lifeboats. The whole time we were scolded for not being quiet, but we saw some of the staff actually talking to passengers in the back of our crowd, being part of the problem and not asking the people to be quiet. We were told "in the event of an actual emergency, the lifeboats would be lowered to us". From where?? When we went to the lounge for our wait for our excursion, the staff was not very helpful in directing us. Also, in Half Moon Cay, the staff could have been more helpful in instructing us as to what we needed to do for our individual tours booked. My husband observed a general lack of ship personnel around the ship during the day who could be asked questions. A minor thing--a lot of the time the lemonade dispensers were not working in the outside buffet on one side. We were also disappointed in the procedure for debarkation on Saturday. We were waiting on deck 9 to hear our number. Howerver, where we were, there was loud music playing, which was unnecessary. So whenever the cruise director cut in to announce, we could not clearly hear. We eventually moved to another area so we could hear. There was a tv set playing where we were sitting which should have been showing the current number being called instead of ESPN. Also, I downloaded the Carnival app, and was disappointed in the fact that this could have been utilized in showing the current number as well. We were on another Carnival cruise last year, and did not notice these problems. On the positive side, our dining room staff was very good, as well as our steward.
