Review summary
We've done this 4 night cruise to the Bahamas previously on other Carnival ships and hands down, every time, it's the crew that makes the cruise delightful! Our room steward was from Ukraine and we have friends from Ukraine (instant connection). Our wait staff could not do enough for us and we requested the same group every night during the Anytime dining. Take a little "something" for the crew members on the first day and they love it. We sailed on Valentines Day and presented a lollipop bouquet of heart lollipops and our head waitress said "in 12 years nobody had ever given her anything"! The room steward got the same gift and presented me with a $50 spa gift card! Sol little for so many hugs and thank yous! We acknowledge the fact that the crew is on board for 9 to 10 months and thank them for their service this way. The Sensation was slightly older but in well kept condition. The only thing that I found mediocre was the food in the buffet. OK, but not great. I think my husband ate a hamburger and french fries every day because it was the best looking (and tasting) thing on board! Unfortunately, we're not big "show" goers, so I can't critique them. The cruise director Mat had his young son with him and they were a hoot doing 70's, 80's and 90's music in the Atrium bar. What fun! Would I cruise Carnival again...Yes! Would I do it President's week when there were a gazillion kids off of school...NO! But the cruise was fun because of the crew!

Ship tip
A power strip or an extension cord is helpful because there is really one, yes ONE plug that is usable either for 220 or 110. We always bring heavy duty cord for clothesline because we often get soaked and need to dry our stuff. We look like hillbillies but we save a lot ($8-$10) the cost to dry!
