Review summary

Since this was a first cruise, we weren't certain what to expect. Of course, we had heard a lot of comments from friends and family both positive and negative, but we were pleasantly surprised. We met a number of loyal Carnival cruisers, friendly staff, and other passengers who shared our enthusiasm on the trip. Granted, we were fortunate to have lovely weather and calm seas, so no sea-sickness, which had been a worry. We especially enjoyed our conversations at open seating dining with other passengers, and the food  and staff in Fantasy Dining room was excellent. One negative would be the smoke environment in the Casino. For a non-smoker, it was thick and uncomfortable to the extent that it actually felt like we couldn't breathe. Obviously, we didn't spend a lot of time in there or the bar outside of the casino, which did have some decent music at night. However, we chose to listen to karaoke to escape the smoke.
