Review summary

Im sorry to say my trip was not up to expectations.I will start with the positive aspects. The check in procedure and the disembarkation were very quick. The entertainment was great. The staff in all areas were pleasant and helpful. Now for the negatives.....the fire drill was a joke.It was very unorganized. The pool area was very small and only one pool(salt water). The hot tubs were warm at best. The buffets were better than the dining room.I was disappointed in the food.We were having a girls weekend(my goddaughter was turning 21).We made the best of it and enjoyed being together. One of her friends had never been on a cruise before. She did have fun.I have been on 12 cruises before this one and have never been as disappointed.I would like to give Carnival another chance, but on a different ship.I forgot to mention the cigarette smell. The smoking areas are not placed well. One had to walk through these areas to get places on board. The casino was horrible.Could not even stay to gamble.I did save money there...lol.Is there such a thing as a non smoking cruise?

It was VERY noisy. It was not the neighbors but sounds of the ship.Lots of banging or hammering, sounds of horns or bells.Im a light sleeper so I hear everything.Needless to say I did not get much sleep.

Smoking does not bother me but people that drink to get drunk does. There was no smoke smell on those places on the Sensation and I am not a smoker. If there had been I certainly smelled it.

Smokers don't have the right to contaminate the air with a health hazard as had been proven with second hand smoke. I am a former smoker and cannot stand cigarette smoke. I don't think smoking should be allowed on the ship anywhere but the uppermost deck. The elevator areas and the elevators smelled like smoke. It was very unpleasant.

I agree sgreer. either sail the Breeze or Sunshine. I prefer right in the middle. the Breeze was awesome but a little to big for me. by the time me and my hubby got to the room we was bushed. lol

remeber the sensation even though re-done is old and small compared to the new ships today . try one of carnivals bigger ships like the breeze, a huge difference and you will be impressed!

I don't smoke either but I have no issue with smokers having designated areas. As Tim said, it's legal. Smokers deserve rights too

I don't smoke or drink and I was on the Sensation several weeks ago and I was in the Casino area and was not bothered by the smoke.

Sorry but on a cruise, you have to deal with smokers in designated areas, screaming and carrying on of unsupervised children running up and down hallways at all hours as well as blocking stairways and pressing all the buttons on lifts, obnoxious drunks starting fights, rude people that think it is THEIR ship causing arguments and people that hog deck chairs also causing arguments. The only difference is that it is ONLY smokers that have designated areas. All the others have free run of the ship. Smokers that abide by using the designated areas to smoke, which by the way IS legal, are adhering to the rules of the cruise line. YET, all the others are are BREAKING the rules of passenger conduct on the ships. Until the government makes it illegal to smoke, I'm afraid you have to deal with it as we have to deal with all the others I mentioned.

wasn't aware the glory was smoke free back then. Airlines ban smoking, Greyhounds have long ago banned smoking, whets up with passenger cruise ships not following the same example

sheetara86    9 years ago

I thought the Glory was non smoking or was at one point in time

Yes the Paradise started as the first ever completely non smoking cruise ship. But Carnival found that vacation for people who like to drink and gamble didn't do as well when they couldn't smoke. Lol

I have an apology, it was Paradise 17 years ago that was smoke free for a short time

banaford    9 years ago

Was a wash

banaford    9 years ago

They tried yrs ago, and it wash a wash. As far as I know there is not a non smoking cruise.

when this ship first sailed 17 years ago it boasted non smoking but it didn't last too long. Too many not sailing a smoke free ship. I agree its a fabulous idea but it didn't work for Carnival
