Review summary

Our family cruise on the Carnival Sensation was a fantastic departure from the mundaness of everyday life! From resturants to excursions, the Carnival Sensation met the needs of our young child, our two teenagers, AND their grandmother. This is one of the few venues that can and will cater to all your family's varied needs.

Ports of call

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Freeport is where the kayaking took place. The ride and corresponding nature tour to the kayakiing site was well worth our time. The kayaking tour also provides a history lesson about the Bahama islands of which we learned there are 700! There is a Straw Market directly across from the cruise ship. We recommend "looking" around the Straw Market.
Don't Miss: If you're physically up to it...do not miss the kayaking excursion!

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
The port at Nassau is alive! There are several shops and resturants in close proximity to the ship. An added bonus is Paradise Island directly across the causeway. Paradise Island is the home of the Atlantis Resort. Paradise Island can be reached by taxi, bus, or our favorite a water taxi.
Don't Miss: Don't miss the aquarium at Atlantis...it's worth the trip!

Pros: Variety of choices in food and activities

Cons: The cruise was a mere 4 nights!
