Review summary

This was our first ever cruise and we really liked it! It was fun learning to get around the impressive ship and talking to fellow cruisers. Extremely well organized with happy staff and great activities. We lucked out with gorgeous weather and got in lots of outside time to offset the delicious dining. Looking forward to the next cruise!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room was good - mostly well prepared and great service with lots of choices. Excellent prime rib and seafood. We liked the buffet and salad bar, short lines. Great specialty restaurants included. Didn't try the extra $ eateries but heard they were worth it.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed mini golf, hot tubs, water slides, and trivia contests.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really fun musical shows, comedy, and dance parties. Still smiling!

Service and Staff

Everyone said hello and did excellent work. Our room was spotless.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The refurb is impressive - looks like a new ship. Some complain about the need to switch floors occasionally to get fore or aft, but wanted lots of steps and stairs and so didn't mind at all. The ship seemed very spacious. The crew were constantly cleaning!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were pleasantly surprised by our room, given we went the least expensive route. The bed was big and comfortable, lots of storage space, great bathroom, excellent materials and finishes, and a wonderful HVAC system that kept the temp just right, the air moving, and was nice and quiet. We slept really well and enjoyed in cabin breaks from all of the excitement.

Ship tip

Any room you book will be fine.

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

We loved hiking up and down the hills viewing all of the cool neighborhoods. It was fun to see the tropical orange fish in the clear waters.

Ensenada, Mexico

We did some hiking around and near the harbor - easy on and off the ship.

Disembarkation

Easy - we got a great breakfast and walked off with the first group.
