Review summary

The staff was awesome! The food was at least 3-4 stars for most of the nights. Prime rib, flat iron steak, shrimp cocktail, caprese salad. The ship is an older looking ship with a weird motif. Mermaids throughout the ship, strange artwork on the walls of the passageways, Taj Mahal theater and a butterfly lounge. The shows were pretty good. The down sides were that the dress code is not enforced in the main dining or on the lido. Main dining even on "formal" nights had several people in sagging torn jeans, decaled tshirts and a backwards baseball hat. There were several girls that showed up in shorts with their cheeks hanging out. Additionally, there wasn't a lot of entertainment for kids or teens after 9pm. The clubs were open, but not very inviting. The teen clubs were a free for all and they pretty much had to entertain themselves. The traffic flow into the port was horrendous. Very chaotic. I will cruise with Carnival for many years to come, but not on the pride, and never again out of Baltimore.

I respectfully disagree, friend. The art and overall style on Carnival Pride Is called Italian renaissance. Except the butterfly lounge. I will admit that comes out of nowhere, lol. But I still liked it. The ship is part of the spirit class which is newer than both the destiny class and the fantasy class in carnivals fleet. Pride was built in 2001 which only makes it 16 years old. Not to mention that Pride was just refitted with its 2.0 upgrades. I'm shocked if they didn't enforce the dress code on formal nights for the dining room. I saw them turn a whole family away, kids and all, for being in casual clothes. The kids in my party all had a good time, and never ran short of things to do. I'm Sorry you had a bad time, man. But Pride is one of the best ships in the fleet. I suggest you give them a second chance. I've sailed on pride twice and will go again soon. Talk with Steve the cruise director, and read the pamphlets they leave in the room. It has all the events and their times. But I do agree with you on the food. Excellent dining. And as for the port of Baltimore, the traffic is just kind of hit or miss on any given day. You might have just caught it at its worst.
