This was an inexpensive cruise for us. The value was good for the five days. I probably would not cruise on this ship again unless it was rennovated and upgraded. I would try a newer Carnival ship. We booked this trip through . Our trip advisor, Pamela Meeks, was super knowledgable and helpful in booking this trip. We plan on using her on future potential cruises.

Easy on. Tampa port was a good experience from the short walk parking lot to the terminal

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Dining 2 nights was okay in the Elation Restaurant. Lido Buffet was just okay and sometimes lacking with a variety of food. Ran out of salad greens and had to wait for a replenishment. Same with the Thousand Island dressing. Food attendant should have been more attentive in gauging the food supply. Guy Fieri Burgers were very tasty and fast. So was the BlueIguana Cantina. Tacos were tasty and fast. The Breakfast Burritos in the morning were fast and tasty. No wait.
Onboard Activities

Pools were a bit crowded and the kids kept the Life Guard busy with just general safety issues
Entertainment

Production shows were awesome. "Mike" the principal male singer/dancer could have his own show. All the dancers and singers were good. Comedian Mike Nelson wasn't really funny and his adult show showed some people leaving after about 10 minutes. Comedian James Johann was pretty good. hIs family show was better than his adult show. He had a lot more laughs than Mr. Nelson. The Decades Music Party With Amber (Cruise Director Amber) was energy driven and she made that event a true success. Cruisers on Decks 7,8,9, and 10 were dancing and singing and Amber had everyone enjoying themselves.

Service and Staff

Our Room Attendant, Cindy, was very personable and attentive. She kept our room clean and tidy. Her morning greeting made the day start off great. Generally, the ship staff were courteous and helpful when needed.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
This is one of the older ships in the fleet. It was clean. The showers were a bit larger than other cruise ships we have been on and the temperature and pressure were excellent. The elevators were limited to 5 working. They appeared to be crowded for the number of passengers (2200) on board. We had to take the stairs more often than we are used to. It would appear that the Main Theater wasn't part of the renovation. The ground floor seats were uncomfortable and lacked back support. The second floor seating had many obstructions and lacked clear sight lines to the stage. More support poles and the clear glass barrier wall was about 40 inches high. This barrier prevented someone to fall down to the ground floor. There was an annoying metal strip along the top of the glass that you had to adjust your eyes and force yourself to look over or below the strip to see the stage. I witnessed many people changing their seats several times to find a good seat. There was only one smoking section on the outside deck just above the pool. This smoking section was always crowded and I couldn't find a seat for two people to have a drink and smoke a cigar.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
First time trying out an interior room due to the price of this trip. We were pleasantly surprised to find it comfortable and it didn't bother us not having an ocean view or balcony. The shower was a bit larger than previous cruises (other cruise lines). The water pressure was great. Our Room Attendant, Cindy, was so nice and kept our cabin clean and tidy. The closets and drawers were sufficient storage. It was a good choice to test out an Interior Stateroom.
Ship tip
The price would drive me to sail on this ship again. Also, the Cruise Director, Amber, made this trip entertaining.
We chose an excursion offered by Cruisesonly.com. It was a chocolate and rum tour. We purchased local made chocolate and run after enjoying the tasting. We enjoyed the excursion as we explored the Roatan area as we drove to and from the two stops. The tour guide wasn't exactly close by as the other tour guides were. We had to walk a little over a quarter mile. I think since they were not excursions sponsored by the Cruise Line, They were restricted to park outside the port/dock area.
The port/dock area was nice and clean. Many shops. Our excursion was booked through Cruiseonly.com. We had to take a taxi to downtown. It was a $10 taxi ride for 4 passengers. This wasn't mentioned in the excursion for the Ebike tour. Our guide, Josh, was patient, knowledgable and passionate about his job as a tour guide. We rented Ebikes and he took us about 10 miles around the city. We stopped at a local Cemetary and he explained bout the celebration of the Day of the Dead during Halloween. We stopped at a local neighborhood outdoor market selling fresh produce, meat, fish, prepared food, etc.. We also visted a local spice store that sold spices, coffee, teas, honey. It was like a holistic shop that talked about the various teas and herbs that helps with ailments. We bought some tea and honey. We stopped for lunch (included in the excursion) at a local family cantina. It was clean and the food/drink was tasty. Our last stop was at a tasting store that sold local distilled tequila. We learned about the distilling of the agave plants that is the base for the tequila. We purchased several bottles of tequila. I commend our tour guide, Josh, for his informative tour of the small section of Cozumel.
