It was okay for a quick trip away but we were quite board on the ship. The entertainment was lacking. Food was subpar and drinks felt watered down. This was our first Carnival Cruise and 2nd guessing our next cruise which was already booked for Carnival in fall of 2023 on the Celebration. Hoping we just picked the wrong ship for a taste of Carnival.

There were no specialty restaurants, the food was cold and bland in the main dining room and buffet (both had mostly same food). Guy's Burger was also cold and lacked flavor. We had the Cheers package and maxed out our 15 daily. Did not carry even a buzz unless we were just drinking back to back. I rarely drink and for me to not carry a buzz with that many drinks says alot. Drink quality was not consistent. Coffee bar was good!
Onboard Activities

There were some trivia sessions, bit mainly all geared towards senior citizens. The 80s night party was a joke. It lasted all of 30 mins and was just a series of contest.
Entertainment

There was 2 shows, the first one Epic Rock was awful the 2nd Pop to the Max was better but still not great. The comedian Russ Nagel was funny. He was the entertainment saving grace of the cruise.
The DJ D was terrible, he couldn't even play a song to the chorus, he kept stopping the song so he could sing, make an useless comment or just stop playing for no reason. I don't think a single song was played through. It killed the dance vibe.

Our room stewart was amazing. The rest of the staff, well it was like moving through an assembly line. We had 1 waiter in the main dining room that was great and wanted to make sure our experience was great. He went above and beyond.

Cleanliness was really good, the housekeeping staff did a great job throughout the ship. As for layout, the ship seemed choppy.
Cabin / Stateroom

This was our first Carnival Cruise and first interior cabin, but it was mostly comfortable. Our bed came apart, even after a topper was put on it still had a dip down the center making it uncomfortable. (Heard this from other guest as well). The room size was fine, and it was always clean.
Ship tip
Take something to do. And wine to supplement your drink package.
We absolutely love Roatan! This port alone is why we booked this trip. We booked our excursion with 2k Adventures and went to West Bay. We had an amazing snorkling trip and city tour.
The only downside was disembarkation for the excursion. There wasn't any organization or announcements as to were anyone was suppose to be.
Cozumel is always great! We took a Taxi to Playa Uvas and had an amazing beach / snorkle day with a private snorkle tour from Roberto. We saw sting rays, trumpet fish, barracuda, conch, and many other fish as well as natural underwater caves.
The Paradise is a budget cruise you get what you pay for I don’t mind the cheap cruise I just lower my expectations and have fun a day on a budget cruise is better than a day at work
Thank you for sharing your cruise experience with us. Although I have not cruised on the Celebration it should be a huge improvement. I hope you enjoy it. I can highly recommend the Carnival Magic after our recent 5/1/22 cruise.
