This was our first cruise and we definitely will be taking more. We only had one day that the waves were a bit much.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was our first cruise. We purchased Faster to the Fun and it made getting on so easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We did not eat in the restaurants, so this review is only for the buffet and Guy's Burger. The food was nothing special. We ended up eating a lot of burgers. Breakfast was decent and loved getting an omelette each morning. Lesson learned, we will take nice clothes to be able to eat in the restaurants.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We enjoyed sitting by the pool. Did not use the fitness center, so I can not rate it. The pool was small, but we only needed to cool off occasionally.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Loved the entertainment, just wished there was more of it. We are people who get bored easy. Really enjoyed the games and different contests held by the pool. Wish there was more of that.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward always called me by my name whenever he saw me. He asked us the first day if we wanted our room cleaned once or twice a day and what time frame. We were celebrating our anniversary early and he wrote on our mirror. Some of the ship personnel were hard to understand because English is not their first language, but they were all very nice.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is older, but clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was an interior and much larger than we had expected. We had a king size bed and it was very comfortable. There was a smell however that would come from the bathroom of urine at times.
Ship tip
Take a small fan to take care of the noise coming from the hall.
We hated how they herd you like cattle through a long building with shops inside. They even had guards at the side doors and would not let you out. At the end was the customs area. This only seemed to be a Carnival thing because the other ships used a different dock and didn't go through this area. We went to Mr. Sancho's. There were plenty of shopping choices at this port. They were all trying to get money out of us though. You just have to say no thank you and move on.
We did not do an excursion. We were not impressed by this port and the ship really pushed shopping for diamonds here. I probably would have rated it higher if we had done an excursion.
This was another time that Faster to the Fun was worth every penny! We were at the airport by 8:00 am. It was so smooth getting off the ship and going through customs. There were shuttle vans as soon as we stepped outside. Only $8 per person and the driver was very professional. We took an Uber on the way to the ship and it was a scary ride!
