Review summary

Small ship with a compact design but it all comes together very well and is extremely easy to navigate. Beautiful atrium which allows people to view the activities in the lobby from all the decks above. Too much smoke in the casino; even just walking past my clothes smelled like smoke. Awesome crew - some of the friendliest we've encountered.

Amazingly quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was average but satisfying.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The games and other activities were very well done. The whole fun crew is amazing, especially the cruise director, Leon. He is the consummate entertainer. He sings, dances, has a great sense of humor, and is wonderful at getting everybody involved. Pools were too small be actually be used.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were amazing - some of the best I've ever seen. Great singers and dancers. Jeff The Fun Dude (comedian) was hilarious.

Children's Programs

Left the kids home for this one.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The crew members were the some of the most friendly and helpful we've ever experienced. Even doing the "my time" dining, the service staff took the time to memorize our names and drink preferences. One bad experience was a drink server in the casino who berated my wife because he felt her tip was not good enough (we always tip well for good service).

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was small but the layout was very good and crowding was never an issue, with the exception of the pool area. Though I normally like all the cool things on the large ships, I have to say I really like the compact layout and the small theater. The bench seat in the theater, however, were very uncomfortable as the seat backs are very low. I also wish they would limit smoking in the casino to a small corner so the rest of us could breathe.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable, but it was right off the main lobby so the noise was terrible. We asked that they close the fire door at night to block the hallway and reduce the noise. They said they would but they never did. Drunk people screaming at 3am kept us awake.

Ship tip

Do NOT get a room right off the main lobby on the Empress Deck.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Nice port area. Did a Mayan ruin tour which was educational and scenic.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Getting off the ship was relatively quick, but getting through Customs took about an hour.

I agree smoking should be limited in the Casino too, I like to gamble too but I need to breath. Thanks for the review. Going in October will have a great time.
