That’s why they offer trip insurance. It’s not the fault of the website or cruise line. I have never booked a cruise where the cancellation policy was not explained in the contract you have to certify that you read and agree to before purchasing. Also, many cruise lines used to offer a credit for a future cruise within a certain timeframe (usually 12 - 24 months) if you canceled after a refund could be issued. I’m not sure if this is still offered or not.

We always take out cruise insurance.

This is the whole reason they suggest you buy insurance. It states very clearly what the cancellation fees are within 90 days. The booking company cruises.com does not control cancellations, the cruise line does. Sorry this happened but without inexpensive insurance you have no one to blame but youself.

Maybe you will take out insurance in future. If you cant be bothered to take sensable precautions who is that their fault
