Review summary

This was my first cruise and we were with a group of 9. I highly recommend going with a group because there is so much to do and so many things for everyone to enjoy no matter what they like. We had a blast and made the most of every moment.

Desserts and drinks were good. The main dining room was very nice but I noticed you did not get consistent good service. The buffet was fine. They did a good job of keeping it clean and refreshed. The quality of the food, especially in the main dining hall was just okay. Nothing to rave about. However the Guys burgers and the Mexican cantina by the pool were the best food in my opinion.

Most were friendly. There was one waiter that literally told us (our table of 9) that he was ‘done with us’. We were just ordering food and asking questions and no one at our table was drinking so it’s not like we were in reasonable. But overall the service was just not consistent.

Ship tip

It’s an older and smaller ship and for me (as someone who never cruised before) I liked that. I could find my way around easily. While it may be an older ship and doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of newer ships it was fun. And if you are not a big drinker, don’t buy the package. I bought 2-3 drinks a day and saved $100 bucks versus buying package. I’m talking about alcohol. I got a case of water delivered and between that and getting water at the buffet as needed and being served it at dinner I was fine.

I’ve always thought Key West is overrated. I’ve lived in Florida most of my life. It’s just a congested area of tourists. And no one is friendly.

Cozumel, Mexico

By comparison, everyone in Cozumel was welcoming and friendly. Such a different experience than Key West. We did an excursion to Passion Island and it was our groups favorite experience. Beautiful island and it’s a reasonably priced package that includes food, drinks, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. it was amazing.
