Review summary

Overall I was very disappointed with Carnival. Not sure I will sail with them again. With all the newer ships they are launching it is really a shame that they are still sailing this ship in these horrible conditions.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
No problems at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was average at best at both the buffets and the dining room. I was disappointed with the dining room food as I expected it to be better.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Not too much to do as the ship is old and does not have many of the amenities of the newer ships.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were decent.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5

Service and Staff

3 out of 5

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The ship conditions are terrible. The ship is way overdue a renovation. There were areas on the ship that were dirty and dingy. Didn't want to go anywhere near some of them.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Cabin was dated as well. Full of dust. The bathroom was dated with a medicine cabinet that did not close. The wallpaper was tore and tattered in places and the molding was in need of repair.

Ship tip

I would advise folks not to sail on this ship. Carnival needs to completely renovate the ship before they send it out on any additional voyages. I was very disappointed in the condition it is in.

Ports of call

You are correct about opinion , but it does matter when the things you say , can be checked out, before you sign up for the cruise , do your home work first , paradise is old yes , flaws yes , know that before you go , go on Disney and pay three times the amount for the same cruise , the ship it self is only the transportation to having fun ,

I see a lot of posts on other social sites complaining about seat Hogs near the pool, on the lesion this was not a problem it is also a smaller ship I found a lot of room so to speak there is less passengers overall and with all of the different activities it didn't feel crowded in any situation I like that the best . We're booked on the paradise can't wait

We loved this ship last year, and can't wait to go again in 31 days! it depends on what you are looking to get out of a cruise.

We're on it right now. It is an older ship and the layout is dated but it's well maintained. I was on the Victory a few months ago and was a bit disturbed on how run down it was.

Older decor but the Paradise was very well maintained - I got exactly what I paid for; a fun, adventurous and memorable holiday! Thank you Carnival!

You had a choice on what ship you went on. I have heard of some people who liked it.

We were on Paradise last November. I knew she was an older and smaller ship. My expectations were not for the ship to have all the bells and whistles as their other newer and larger ships. A little research can go a long way. This app itself it's a good source of information, especially for pictures that aren't staged. Don't give up! Just research next time. Cheers!

it all depends on what is important to you as an individual and your purpose for cruising. I personally go for the fun and relaxation. As long as the service is good and it is clean the bells and whistles arent a priority. it's all about having a good time.

Well you had a chose and booked it if you want all the bells and whistles then you need to pay for it regardless of what lines you book you need to do your homework not come back and whinge......

It's a dilemma for all cruise lines. If they sell off their old ships, a new competitor will be launched and beat them on price. So they all hold onto their old ships, put some lipstick on them, and do shorter cruises with them.

The Paradise goes to dry dock in early 2018. She will get a nice makeover at that time.
