This was not our favorite cruise. We didn't go to the port we wanted to go to because the engine went down on the ship. We could have took a Royal Ship and took the same cruise we did this time to the same two destinations, Costa Maya and Conzumel but we took Carnival for the port of Grand Cayman and were very disappointed with the ship and not being able to go.
Embarkation

We boarded the ship quick with no problem and no waiting because we had priority boarding. Crew was nice.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was ok. We had to wait awhile for our food to come and when we got it sometimes it was cold. We ordered a couple times where we had to pay for it and that also came Luke warm. The buffet breakfasts were good. There was a variety and the food was hot. The lunch buffet wasn't great...variety was not there and it didn't seem to be as good as the other Carnival cruise we sailed. The restaurant where the buffet was served stayed hot all the time so we took out food to our room at times to eat
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The pools and hot tubs were small and always packed. We never utilized them. I laid out one time on one of the upper decks which was nice.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
We attended several of the shows and played BINGO. They were good.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Everyone was nice and always helpful when we had a question or problem
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
This is an old ship and needs updating. The hall where our cabin was constantly smelled of urine or poop. Never was there a day the hall did not stink day or night.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Our room was very roomy. Although it appeared to be clean when we walked in it was not clean. There was hair in the bathtub. A hairband on the floor in the bathroom. Candy on the floor near the balcony door and fingernail clippers on the floor at the counter in front of the bed. The bathroom smelled like the hallway, which I'm sure was the sewer. We had plenty of room in the cabin. The shower broke the 2nd day we were there and we tried to fix it ourselves but had to call to have them to fix it on the 3rd day.
Ship tip
We heard they were updating the boat next year 2018...wait to cruise this ship after they update!
