Review summary

All in all, it was a great cruise.  But I was extremely disappointed that the itinerary was changed due to age of the ship, etc.  We ended up going to Cozumel and Costa Maya.  I had my heart set on Roatan and Belize.  We were given a $50 in ship credit and we used it for pictures.

I did the Groove for St. Jude.  I thought it would be more than just one song... but it was still fun and for a good cause.

Enjoyed Brandon --the cruise director.  The staff are really hard-working and friendly.

It would be great if Carnival had more group fitness classes such as Zumba --probably a copyright issue--but do something similar.

Food was good.  It was a nice surprise to find chocolate covered strawberries and sparking wine on our bed one evening--in celebration of our anniversary.

We actually booked this same Cruise last June 2016. The itinerary on this sailing was changed 2 times. It was changed from Cayman Islands to Roatan back in August of 2016. Then in January / February it was changed again from Roatan to Costa Maya. The email we received was due to propeller/ speed issues. Nonetheless, $25 per person given for the inconvenience and we couldn't change w/o penalty.

When was your cruise?

So it sounds like it is a ship issue. Liberty had one last fall that ultimately could not be fixed. That's when they moved her out of Galveston do she could take the shorter Bahamas itineraries.

Paradise changed ours too ... we cruised in April 2017

amstar944, then that would be a ship issue, not "due to the age of the ship" like Legray posted. Newer ships have engine trouble too.

says that it was supposed to be fixed in June I have a August cruise and hope it goes to roatan instead of Costa maya

What do you mean "the itinerary was changed due to the age of the ship..."? What does that even mean? We have experienced several itinerary changes due to weather and an issue with the ship's engine. Due to the age of the ship? That didn't make sense.
