Review summary

We recommend to leave the port of Costa Maya and take a tram to the old village of Mahahual, then find a spot on the beach to lounge and hire a private (or semi-private) boat and guide to snorkel on both the reef ( to see fish ) and open water (to see turtles).

Our cabin porter was Hamidi was the greatest, he went above and beyond. All staff were very professional and friendly.

On Paradise, the main pool was dinky and not easy to climb in and out for older folks

We were told we were going to have a balcony, we had booked a year in advance, but got a picture window and King bed ( no balcony ).

we took cheap taxi to Mahahual found a beach side table, hired a boat and diver guide and had nearly 2 hours of snorkeling for only $25 each!
