Review summary

Debarkation is so awful. That's the main reason for not going to another cruise. Cruise ship should at least own more than 2 scanners that scan passengers out. The line at custome was so long and slow. It's not worth my money to go thru that hassle. On top of that, carnival lost my luggage. I'm very very disappointed about my first cruise trip.

We got off the ship on May4th and we zipped through customs, but we did do the self disembarkation. we were off the ship and in our car on I-4 heading home to Orlando by 8:30am. There were at least 3 people scanning us off the ship and there were at least 2-3 people checking us out in customs.

As far as your other complaints. In the shower it is a handheld device, did you adjust it? The Zip Line excursion is not Carnival's fault, that is a third party company. You picked the excursion, no reason to blame the cruise about it. As far as nothing to do on the ship, what DID you want to do. There is an activities list put in your room overnight full of things to do. There was more than enough do on the ship. No matter how you slice it, bingo is always a rip off, you just are upset that you didn't win. as for your steak, well you should have let your waiter know, and they would have gotten you a new one. As far as Carnival Losing your luggage, did you put the CORRECT luggage tags on each piece of luggage? If you did not put the luggage tags on, your luggage will be delivered last since they have to find your room and so forth. Again, customers fault for not putting the preprinted tags on the luggage.

I agree with the other comments that carrying your own luggage is best, especially with Faster To The Fun (FTTF). We did that and we were onboard and unpacked and having lunch on deck by 12:15 on embarkation day. On Disembarkation we were the first off after the Platinum.

I pack a carry on and a backpack as well which eliminates having anyone else responsible for my luggage. Self service helps a lot, no long lines through customs.

Losing luggage is very common on all cruise ships. For that reason I trimmed my bags down to a carry on and a back pack. Problem solved.

I think port Canaveral is unorganized compared to New Orleans but it's the port not the cruise line. It's a totally different company.

Self disembarking is definitely the best way. You fly right through everything and you carry your luggage with you so no need to even slow down. Tampa's port can be a mess though. That's been the worst port I've experienced.

We did self disembarking last time and it was so much better. No searching for luggage and we zipped through customs in record time.

Tina66 Port of Tampa definitely has a play in it as well. I will NEVER sail out of Tampa again. Out of the Carnival cruises we have been on, Tampa was the only bad experience we've had. Too crowded. Don't care. Disorganized. Hated it both coming and going.
