Review summary

This was our first cruise and probably our last cruise. We choose this cruise because we have always wanted to see Grand Cayman. Boarding was good but that was the only thing good about it. This ship apparently had one engine down so the ship could not cut thru the waves this made walking very rough. First few days it was hard to keep your food and drink on the table. We were told 48 hours prior to leaving that we could not stop at Grand Caymen due to technical issues, but we would visit costa maya instead. We did not visit either of these ports, the ship did not have enough power to get into port. This was so disappointing!! On the 3rd day another engine blew so we just kind of floated around, which we didn't mind, because that meant less rockyness on the boat. The food was the same everynight and had no flavor, but the wait staff was friendly. Bartenders were no friendly at all. 4th night sewage backed up and the stairwells smelled so bad. We had no water for several hours and when we finally did get watrer, it was rusty. The compensation was a $25 on board credit to spend on the ship. I felt this ship was not safe to begin with had we known about the first engine being down we would not have taken this cruise but with two engines gone it

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Basically same food on the dinner menu every night. Bland tasting. Lunch menu was okay, usually did the salad bar.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The nightly shows were awful. It reminded me of mickey mouse club. We enjoyed the comedy shows and piano bar.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Bartenders were RUDE. Waiters were friendly though and always called by name. Our room service lady, Belle was fantastic.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Stairwells smelled like sewage, it was unbearable. We avoided that area of the ship. Water was out for 3 hours our last day at sea.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It wasn't anything special, glad we had a window. Belle our room service lady was very friendly.

You need to email Carnivals CEO and all their Board members. The $25 onboard credit may have been all they were allowed to give at the time. Don't waste your time with the customer care. Let the board of execs know what happened. They want to keep your business and with a few well placed emails it could help.

Wow this is surprising... definitely not the usual carnival cruise experience. If you did it again it would be great.

Sounds awful, sorry that happened. Don't know about you but it's hard enough to come up with the time and money for cruises and to have it turn out like that. I do agree with the previous responders, give cruising another try. I hope your next will be awesome.

we have been on 11 cruises. The Paradise was the worst!!! Don't give up on cruising. There are a lot of great cruises out there.
