I now know I am getting older, need a ship with less noisy partying. I do miss those days though.

Review summary

This is a great ship for the younger crowd. They need to make it a NO SMOKING ship. When you passed that bar, and casino area you had to hold your breath. The entertainment was super, especially the comedy shows. Put you in a great mind-set to hit your pillow at night. There was a great choice of meals and food at all hours of the day and night. My room was perfect and the steward the best I ever had. It was impossible for anyone to get bored, You have so many choices of things to do. Had no problem getting on or off, and totally enjoyed my trip. The trick is to go with different friends all the time so you have different experiences. My motto "Enjoy every day".

It was the best arrangement of beds. The location was perfect for elevators, comedy club, serenity deck. The room steward was the best I ever had. I plan on using this room often.

Ship tip

Be ready for a fun time, lots of activities and lots of younger 20-40 people.

The state of Colorado adopted a no smoking policy in the casinos and discovered something very interesting. There are smoking terraces for those who must but revenues actually went up. Yes, the bars are alive and well, the non-smokers came in to backfill the void of chain smokers. The transition worked out great. We were on the non-smoking paradise and I would have to agree .... the ship was full so they probably had staffing problems. It was really nice for a change!

Was on the paradise last February. We are not smokers but I agree they need better ventilation in the casino. We do not go into the casino but they usually have a band playing in the casino bar and it is also smoking area. When you sit and listen to the band for a little while you leave feeling like you had been smoking.

Carnival informed us they simply could not keep it staffed with non smokers. Passengers were never the issue. I am not sure if thats true or not but it seems like cruise lines are trying to do a better job with monitoring where smoking is allowed.

I've been on a several carnival ships and honestly the Paradise has the worst ventilation of them all. I couldn't breathe near the casino. I think it's the way the ship is laid out.

Smoke was just as bad on Magic in casinos and is reason why we DIDN'T spend money gambling. Also on some ships they put smoking near kids clubs!

Personally I can't stand the smoking. But the previous posters are 100% correct. This is a business and they are in business to make money.

Smokers have a right to cruise too. And they found out that you can't fill the ships with just non smokers.

Non-smoking maybe a thing of the past on cruise ships when it was discovered smokers and drinkers spend more.

It was a non smoking ship when it was first built but lack of revenue they decided against it after a few years
