Review summary

Best parts of cruise were food and shows were awesome. Worst part was we were supposed to go to Cozumel and a lady got sick so they turned the boat around. Small print Carnival can change the itinerary any time and you still pay!

Yes they do turn around ships for sick people or a host of other issues including weather. They are upfront in telling you they can change itinerary at any time and no refund or discount is required. If you do get it....you should count yourself lucky and not complain.

Exactly!! a human's life is far more important then getting to your port of call. Stuff happens and this is not Carnival's fault, it is all layed out in the contract. if you are not willing to risk these mishaps from happening (including weather related) then don't cruise.

They deserve nothing less than a free cruise (suite of course), $200 obc and a crew member to follow them and do their bidding. That was written in /sarcasm font.

I can't believe this!! If you were the person in critical condition would you not want the ship to do what needs to be done! Is not human life worth anything anymore?? Or is Cozumel that important???

@steven112 it is true, but what they left out was the life threatening situation the sick lady was in. In you cruise ticket contract (not in small print) is states Carnival can change the itinerary at any point.

Ive heard of them doing this, just not so far out (assuming they had already done Cayman).

I find this hard to believe. They don't just turn around because someone is sick. I was on a cruise once that turned around for a bit to meet the coast guard helicopter. They lifted the passenger from the ship. Ship then turned around and proceeded with the trip. They have had people die while on board and they keep going.

Did you go back to Tampa early?

I heard they refunded the port fees and 20% off another cruise and any excursions booked through CCL.
