Review summary

Carinval out of tampa with 2 days at sea is mostly know as a party boat. For the price we paid it was a great deal. While the lunch food selection was not the best, the dinner was impressive and great! The ship was older but kept clean, the staff was friendly and helpful but compared to other ships and cruise lines were not up to par. What made the cruise a slight turn off were the fellow passengers that were a bit more rough and tumble and not as well behaved and mostly drunk. But hey for the price and knowing that carnival is know as the party boat it was a great time. Glad I could take a vacation but next time Ill go on a different cruise line and pay the extra for a better quality of food and people.

Could not figure out where the bathrooms were, poor signage and no help for direction on the ship

If you plan on drinking more than 4 drinks a day, but the drink package you will save in the long run.

So you think people are low class who travel on Carnival. then you should go on other ships good luck. I will stick with the fun people. Carnival is a party ship I been on mostly all and had the most fun with Carnival.

I've been on other cruise lines and the food is the same. I do understand what you're talking about so we tried a different cruise line and didn't have as good of a time. It was very quiet and felt like there wasn't much to do after 10 pm. We don't stay up really late cutting loose but not even the hot tubs were open.

I have traveled carnival and royal I liked both food was pretty much the same quality on both. I feel that carnival is more later back where as Royal is pretty strict on rules. Royal had a prettier ship and I had a great time on both. I feel carnival is more fun.

yes we agree TeresaC that the food on the various ships seems to be pretty much the same in quality. I only know of Carnival and can't talk of the other lines. But when I'm sailing I'm happy to be away from the office for a week or so. I have my books and my balcony so let the folks raise can and party till they fall down drunk, I've got my balcony.

You just said dinner was impressive and great so what makes you think another cruise line would offer better quality. I think all lines have the buffets for lunch. You can stay with Carnival but try a larger ship with more dining options. But I've also heard the cruises of 5 days or less are more party scenes. You could also try a longer cruise.
